I don't remember saying you had to run in the open class, I do remember suggesting it. You can make your entire body out of CF and it wouldn't matter your class wouldn't change. And what Mike is talking about is, you both will be in the same class SM, He's in this class because of modified boost, your in it because of CF. Now Mike can put as much CF on the Bus he wants and it wouldn't change his class, and vise versa you can add boost and not move out of your class. That's all about car classification, competition class is different and it depends on the club hosting the event. Flagstaff solo club has only 3 competition classes where the AZ region club has around 20 or so and has what is refered to as open classes, that is where cars are grouped according to class and they all run in the same group and compete against each other base on pax score. The "open" competition class up here merely puts everyone together in one big group and we compete against each other. There really is no disadvantage to competing in the open class other than most of who you will be driving against will be on race compound tires. If you do compete in the open class you will recieve a street tire adjustment to compensate for not running in the open class with r-comp tires. You, Mike and Shane should run in the street tire class. I on the other hand have no choice, I have to run in open because my class (ST) is an open class in the SCCA.
