Sorry didn't realize it was a GGSX. In that case it's the same gearing as the vr4 with a longer final drive. Same tranny though. You should know that turbo gearing will be noticeable in an NA car. Get a GSX or VR-4 trans and then swap in your final drive. If you have any other questions, check this out first. http://www.vfaq.com/FAQlocator-index.html Go to drivetrain and then gearing. GL
gee,,,sorry the trem does not discribe the same trim levels between our cars,,,if thats the case you have other issues than just your trans, like higher compression and no oil squirters,,,and no knock sensor=no detination protection
so i swap my 5th in place of the dsm 5th. and i should be fine. how come all the people on the dsm forums didn't tell me that or show me that site.
and i know about my motor not have oil squirters,no knock sensor. and i well see how long it lasts. i'm working on finding a turbo ecu but i want a eprom so i can chip it.. and run a knock sensor.
Not 5th, but rather the final drive. It's mainly the big ring gear around the differential in transaxles. Basically reuse your old diff gearing. The reason nobody mentioned it on the forums is because most forum members are bench racers and not mechanics. Always be careful about what information you take from the interweb/webbernet.
i would your final drive is way longer and your rear diff ratio is way shorter than a turbo drivetrain.ecm upgrade for knock deffinitly but why would you chip it you already have an afc?
and for the record the reason i thought it was a vr4

and with the a factory turbo installed(aside from the obvious grearing difference,,,and a non turbo block lol)it pretty much is a vr4
ha ha takeing the trans out was easy!! i did it all by myself. but i did f&^k up one of my axles, i pulled it apart at the cv joint do i have to get a new one or can i fixed.
lol hahaha taking it out was the easy part when i did mine,,,it just "fell" out,,,but getting it in was a f##king nightmare,,,good luck with that hahaa, yes you can put cv axle back together but your gonna get greasy,i assume it was the inner joint that saperated, youll just need a new boot strap, cut the old strap and peel the boot back the install the bearings(3) in the cage and kind of twist it back into the carrier.
